5 Best Marvel Video Games

2. Spider-Man 2 (Yes, The Movie Tie-In)

spider-man-2-fSystem: PS2, PC, Xbox, GameCubeRelease: 2004 Spider-Man 2 stands above so many other games of its time, and not just the Superhero genre. There was no game before this one that managed to capture the web swinging mechanics, Spidey's wit and truly responsive fighting like this one. It is a finely crafted treat. The scope of the game's world was, and still is, unreal! It feels like you are really swinging around the city streets and landmarks of the Big Apple. The developers eye to detail cannot be understated; this would matched a few years later by the work of Ubisoft on the Assassin's Creed series. And just like Assassin's Creed, this game's open world makes it very easy to forget about the missions altogether and just go sightseeing. It is hard to go wrong with Spider-Man and video games, except the PS2 port of Spider-Man 3 - avoid that like the Black Death. But on the whole, Spidey has had very consistent treatment in the video game realm. It seems that Spider-Man is the easiest hero to build a game around, and comics for the matter. This game is for everyone who likes either the sandbox genre or Spider-Man then you must play this game!
