5 Brilliant Directors Who Should Helm Video Game Adaptations

3. Sam Raimi - Resident Evil

RE Cast: Chris Redfield - Chris Hemsworth Leon S. Kennedy - James Franco Jill Valentine - Kate Beckinsale Barry Burton - Kiefer Sutherland Abert Wesker - Michael Fassbender Master of horror Sam Raimi returns to our screens with his upcoming take on "The Wizard of OZ" which should put him back on the radar as one of Hollywood's finest. His last two movies, the woeful "Spider-Man 3" and "Drag Me To Hell" would be easily forgotten if he signed up to direct a Resident Evil Reboot. Spider-Man 1 and 2 are seriously underrated and it disgusts me that Raimi's trilogy is often discarded as a disservice to Spider-Man. If given the chance, Raimi could make a terrifyingly old-school horror that would please all Resident Evil fans. Don't forget that Raimi has served as a producer on Spartacus and Xena:Warrior Princess too, so action wouldn't be a problem either. Chris Hemsworth would make a perfect Chris Redfield while Emily Blunt would be amazing as Jill Valentine. Michael Fassbender would be excellent as villain Albert Wesker and he would also provide some much needed talent within the cast. Kiefer Sutherland is a controversial choice but then again, he would bring something different. I think James Franco would be an awesome Leon S.Kennedy. He could appear in a cameo at the very end, setting up a potential sequel.
