5 Brilliant Ideas In Modern Games That Had Horrible Executions

3. Far Cry 3: Tower Climbing

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GExFcK1Sdx0 Far Cry 3 borrowed a number of ideas from Ubisoft€™s other flagship franchise, Assassin€™s Creed, to great effect: disguises to blend in with the crowd, stalking prey and, most notably, the use of radio towers as viewpoints. Just like Assassin€™s Creed, you have to climb dilapidated towers in order to gain mini-map access to sections of the game world. Plus, you get free weapons, too. Admittedly, this starts out pretty cool, as€”from a first person point of view€”you climb each level of the tower. It€™s neat visually but gets old after a while, and considering the fact that there are 18 towers in all, the activity becomes more of a chore than anything else. It also doesn€™t help that the towers become progressively more difficult, sometimes unfairly so.
