4. Skyrim
The sequel to Oblivion and like its predecessor was also widely applauded by critics and fans. Set in the northern Tamrielic province of Skyrim (hence the name of the game), and set 200 years after Oblivion, the story centres around the return of Alduin and the Dovakhiin (you). Skyrim is technically superior to Oblivion. This is evident in gameplay in many ways ranging from improved graphics, better levelling system, better NPC AI etc. Like Oblivion there is also a vast range of side quests, characters, locations and loot just waiting to be discovered. Skyrim also has an impressive cast of voice actors most notably Christopher Plummer (Captain Von Trapp in The Sound of Music). As mentioned before many novels have been successfully adapted for TV and film so I do not see why computer games should be any different. Skyrim has seen a live action adaption in one of its game trailers, so thats a start. Whereas Oblivions Cyrodiil had green hills and looked quite colourful, Skyrim is a colder and darker place and we would be able to see super-detailed and scaly fire (and ice) breathing dragons in Full-HD glory. The actors could again reprise their roles and my choice for the protagonist would be a Male Nord played by Russell Crowe. See him in Gladiator and you may see why I choose him. I would have the main quest intertwined with the sub-quests, especially the Civil War, with the Dovakhiin siding with Empire and the Dovakhiin being a fierce believer in Talos (which the Aldmeri Dominion prohibit). I would again add a love interest and make the Dovakhiin a father as well, to give him something to fight for and protect, again to add emotion and depth to the story. Again I would want HBO to create this for the reasons stated before.
