5 Famous Properties Telltale Games Should Tackle

2. Sleepy Hollow

sleepyhollow Sleepy hollow is the one property I would deem hardest to adopt but the possibility of a gothic town in Victorian times, creepy characters and a headless horseman makes this a really appealing one. The game could either reiterate the original story of Ichabod Crane coming to Sleepy Hollow and fighting the legend of the iconic headless horseman, or they could take it an entirely different route and have a new protagonist or time period. In 2012 there was a Sleepy Hollow comic released and it was a modern interpretation of the tale, which proves the tale is relevant in any time period. There are several story possibilities for a Sleepy Hollow game. Gameplay for Sleepy Hollow could be similar to Sherlock Holmes, with an investigation-heavy style. However the gameplay for this one entirely depends on the time period and protagonist. Personally I€™d prefer the olden time period with Ichabod Crane, therefore relying on the clue-finding style with some action elements. One such action section I can picture would be Ichabod on horseback, riding through a forest to escape the horseman, which wouldn€™t be out of Telltale€™s capabilities. As well as this there could be sword-fights or escape-the-room style levels, which are just a couple of ideas for gameplay possibilities. The timing of a Sleepy Hollow game is quite good as a new modern iteration is coming in the form of a television show. That makes the Sleepy hollow world more relevant than it has been since the Johnny Depp movie in 1999. Although the game wouldn€™t tie-in to the show, it would still benefit from it, if the show were a success. Aesthetically I think this could be the coolest title of my suggestions. With the predominantly grey colour palette, cobble-stone streets, cottages and forests this would look great and the world is already there in the form of books, comics and the movie, to adopt. Like I said, Sleepy Hollow is probably the hardest of these games to turn into a point-and-click game but its potential is great.
