5 Ideas To Create The Best Deadpool Game Possible

The merc with a mouth is finally getting his own game. Well, Mr. Wilson we've got a few ideas to help make your game better, I don't care if you don't want them...you're takin' em'.

What was that? We're getting an official Deadpool game? Yes. Oh dear God, yes. Those of us who have followed this undeniably outrageous merc with a mouth over his comic career were no doubt excited to hear that he was finally going to recieve an entire game devoted to his egotistical self. It really doesn't seem there could have been a better way to reveal the news than by allowing Deadpool himself to announce his own game. Not only did the trailer manage to excite Deadpool fans everywhere, but it proved that the character was in great hands with High Moon Studios. Having already showed what they can do for adapting an iconic franchise to the gaming industry, with Transformers, it seems that they are infinitely on the same page as the Deadpool character. http://youtu.be/nEeacuK4qmQ Hilarious dialogue, check. Gory brutality, check. Questionable sanity, check. Breaking the fourth wall, check. You get the idea. Let's face it, the developers understand the character and what makes him tick just by watching the reveal trailer. On top of this, their work with the iconic Transformers franchise certainly is hurting their chances. There's no reason to spout off the dozens of ways they can remain true to the character, no, instead I want to take a look at how they can make it the best GAME possible. After all, it is a gaming experience and not simply a Deadpool story. Here are a few ideas for how High Moon Studios can put players in control of an iconic comic character, and make it fun as all hell.

1. Deep Combat System

Deadpool is a master marksman, martial artist, and swordsman. The reveal trailer certainly gives us a taste of all of these important elements of Wade Wilson, but if it isn't implemented correctly into the game then all is lost. Players should feel the strength behind his blows, the precision of his aim, and his incredible agility. Pooling together the ways that High Moon Studios could create an immersive combat system could easily lead players to believe that they might rely on Rocksteady's combat foundation. This would provide players with a responsive way to react to combat, yet there-in lies the problem. Sure, Batman felt like a complete boss with his counters and brutal beat downs, but Deadpool is far and none a more shall we say aggressive fighter? High Moon Studios will need to find a way to balance firearms, swordplay, and responsive hand-to-hand combat in order to completely nail a Deadpool gaming experience. Picture being able to counter an enemy and flipping over them as you slice through their body with your sword. In mid air, you draw your firearms and blast away at oncoming enemies. As you land, you become surrounded and use a wide range of martial arts moves to brutally devastate your foes. It would seem that to polish off gameplay High Moon could implement some form of executions which result in a highly stylized gameplay moment forcing your jaw to drop, and Deadpool to make a witty comment about what he did without your help at all. Of course, this is just an idea. Click "next" below to read on...
