1. Solid Snake - Metal Gear Solid Series
Metal Gear Solid has one of the most complex plots of any gaming series in all of history. It spans several decades and crosses all kinds of borders with characters including Cyborgs, former child soldiers and even clones. Stylistically it's a bit like Final Fantasy meets Resident Evil, minus the zombies of course. So it's Solid Snake that takes the top spot. The guy who voiced Snake in the english version of the game is
David Hayter, a fine voice actor indeed. Not only does a fine voice make a character more memorable but a backstory as crazy as Snake's would make him hard to forget. A clone of former war hero 'Big Boss' and the product of an experiment called 'Les Enfant Terribles'.Due to being a clone Snake aged rapidly and by the time he appeared in MGS4 he was an old man. That didn't stop him though, it only made him more badass. After completing his final mission. Snake went into a well deserved retirement. Something we can all agree made our hearts sink a little. In the last few days, Hideo Kojima has revealed that the trailer released a number of months ago for a game called 'The Phantom Pain' was actually a teaser for 'Metal Gear Solid V' - The Phantom Pain. The game appears to be a prequel to the Metal Gear Solid series, but will take place after Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater, and will feature the same eye patch wearing protagonist 'Big Boss'. Those die hard fans who have played the series since it's inception on the PS1, will be disappointed to learn the iconic voice actor David Hayter will not be doing any voice-over work. I think I speak for everyone when I say, SNAKE, SNAKE?! SNAAAAAAAAAAAKE
