4. Location
Another thing lackluster about AC3 was its location. While I enjoyed seeing my country in its earlier state, I think we can all agree we all were in awe with the engine, not the buildings. It makes sense it wouldn't look as impressive as Italy or Constantinople because it was still growing. Ubisoft gave us the Frontier to look at, but that only holds your attention for so long. After awhile, it becomes boring to look at. Which is never good for an Assassin's game. With Assassin's Creed 4 screenshots released, it seems the cities resemble Renaissance Italy while keeping its own look, which is great. The jungle and the ocean looks great as well and with the AnvilNext engine it could even surpass AC2. If you were one of the few (like me) who bought the season pass for Assassin's Creed 3, then you already had a taste of the lush greenery Black Flag will bring.
