2. A Chance For the Pawn System to be Re-Thought
The main draw to Dragon's Dogma was the innovative pawn system which consisted of player-made NPCs (or pawns) who joined other players' worlds as party members for hire. The pawns would then return to their masters' worlds with new information, knowledge, and items. This sharing and sense of community was an impressive concept, but some design choices left something to be desired - or should perhaps have been left out entirely. It's nice that pawns speak to you and share their thoughts of the surrounding world, but when they open their mouths with the same line every time you cross a bridge, happen upon a road split, or even walk near the capital, it gets annoying - especially when you're required to walk the same paths over and over again. With a new system such as this, it would be a shame for players to dread something as miniscule as talking pawns. A revamp could breathe new life into this game and have pawns be a welcome addition instead of an mosquito that constantly buzzes in your ear.
