5 Reasons Horizon Zero Dawn Could Underwhelm

3. Worrisome Animations

A leak of what some presume is a side quest cutscene raised a few alarm bells concerning the quality of Horizon's finished product.

The leaked video - seen below - had low frame rate, appalling voiceover and twitchy animations, including some very awkward facial expressions by Aloy towards the stranger she was conversing with.

To be fair, this is one of only few pieces of footage to cause concern, with most of the animation in Horizon looking polished and stylish. There has also been a very notable improvement in facial animation over the last couple of years, with games such as Uncharted 4 and Halo 5 breaking new ground.

It would be great to Horizon follow in their footsteps and apply these animation techniques to make the immersion all the more deep and successful.

Hopefully the footage was from an earlier stage in production and the problems will have been fixed before gamers part with their money, but be cautious of the warnings.
