5 Reasons Why Nintendo Should Make A Wind Waker Sequel For The Wii U
When Nintendo revealed the final rendering of The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker in 2001, the cel-shaded visuals caused quite a stir within the fan community. Some were pleased with the new art style, most were skeptical, and nearly everyone was surprised at the drastic departure from the realism they grew so fond of in Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask. Despite all the hubbub, Wind Waker went on to smash expectations and became hailed by critics as the greatest Zelda game of all time. Even today, after more than ten years after its release, it is still considered by many to be the strongest, most dynamic entry in Nintendo's cherished series. The original game spawned two moderately successful spin-off games for the Nintendo DS, and by all accounts, Nintendo has moved on from the aquatic, post-Hyrule world of Wind Waker. But should it have? Sure, Wind Waker got the ol' "HD Treatment" that Nintendo has become so fond of, but it added nothing more than a little gameplay tweaking and a lot of bloom lighting. This article is going to explain why it would be in Nintendo's best interest to revisit the highly-stylized and dearly loved Wind Waker universe with a full-blown sequel for the Wii U.
