5. The Art Style
Best to start off with the most obvious, right? Wind Waker's initial point of contention was its vivid and exaggerated cel-shaded art style. It was immediately likened to a cartoon, with detractors referring to the game as "Celda". However, like any great underdog story, Wind Waker's success forced the critics to eat their words. The reason this style would work so well in a Wii U sequel is because the Wii U cannot handle cutting-edge graphics, period. It's not capable of competing with the hyper-realistic content that's featured on the PS4 or Xbox One. So, instead of beating the competition at their own game, Nintendo should think outside the box (which is something they used to be renowned for) and release a game that looks totally unique. The Wind Waker universe would be a great platform for this approach, and even the Wii U is capable of making a stylized game look amazing.
