5 Reasons We Don't Need or Want a Mass Effect MMO

3. Star Wars: The Old Republic

I have mentioned this game many times before in this article, so it is time to fully discuss it. I have already mention the over saturation of the genre, and one of the highest profile releases was the Old Republic. Developed by Bioware and published by EA. So wouldn't a new release take away from a market EA has tried so hard to reach? The Old Republic is struggling to hold subscribers, even going as far as giving it a free to play model. With one MMO desperately clutching on to life, releasing yet another one would just kill both of them. Due to the amount of content, a lot of players tend to stick with one MMO and one only. Mass Effect Online would steal players from The Old Republic, and visa versa. EA would lose money on both games and ultimately, they would both die. The Old Republic did sell well, and Star Wars is a universe is easily more recognisable than Mass Effect, so a Star Wars MMO is bound to be somewhat popular.

I live in Australia, love to write and play games. So what better than writing about games? I love all things action and fantasy, as well as my occasional shooter. I literally cannot wait for GTAV!
