3. Its Too Fast-Paced
The series has retained its cinematic qualities but its a run-and-gun action film, far away from the Romero influence of old. This started to creep in at 5, as Capcom attempted to tweak things for a new audience. It was noticeably a different game, but I dont think it harmed the experience in any way. Players already knew the world they were stepping into, so the only real way to go was lots of jump scares and running away. The fact that 6 is a supernatural Call of Duty which the latter series already covered means that the games sensibility has changed entirely. The focus is not on old-fashioned, slow-paced horror, but instant excitement.
