2. The Problems Aren't A Majority

I need to be crystal clear here. I don't sanction this ideal. I don't think we should just worry about the majority. I don't mean to belittle anyone. The issues that have been raised around used games and DRM are definitely problematic. DRM has a checkered past. You only have to look at Diablo III and SimCity for evidence. I also care about the used market as it is imperative to high street retailers, also gives competition to publishers in terms of pricing. So I am not saying I wholly support everything that is going on. That doesn't mean that I don't see benefits to either of those things as well though. If a console is DRM, and it works, we will have great interconnected services that could support some great gaming experiences and social experiments, much in the way there are some amazing projects and installation that rely on social media. Also, if used game disappeared, it is possible prices will fall due to competition from Sony, Steam and other online services. I don't think it as black and white as some lead on. It is important to remember that these worries are certainly worries. Gaming should be for everyone and this complicates that notion. However, let not forget that these are issues that may not actually effect many people. Most of us have internet connections that will be able to hook up to Microsoft's servers once a day. Also in my experience, retail prices have been rivaling used prices recently. On more than one occasion I have actually seen retail games cheaper than the used version. I know, because I have made use of that deal while it happens. I reiterate, I don't mean to belittle anyone. I 100% support your right to be annoyed if these are indeed significant worries for you. I don't want you excluded anyone from gaming, especially if you aren't from such a privileged background. Gaming definitely shouldn't just be for the rich. Like I said previously, I seriously believe gaming should be for everyone. I am just making the direct point that the majority are actually ready for the move of these two issues, especially in the West where the Xbox's main audience is.
