5 Things We Learned From PGI 2018

3. Players Are Desperate For PGI In-Game Cosmetic Codes

Attendees of PGI 2018 would land a hefty amount of free swag each day. From t-shirts to tote bags, if you attended all five days of the event, you'd end up with freebies worth more than what you paid to get tickets each day. One big draw for the tournament were the in-game cosmetic items, with fans receiving a specific item depending on which day you attend. If you attend all five days and leave all five codes un-redeemed, that's when the PUBG players who didn't attend will be hugging your butt harder than the frying pan.

Redeemable codes for these limited cosmetics were cropping up on auction sites mere minutes after the doors opened on any particular day. When Sunday rolled around, and attendees got their hands on the final piece of the puzzle, the Reaper Mask, their sell-able sets were complete, with some fetching around $1,600 before the day was out. Reports even suggested fans turning up to the Mercedes-Benz arena to scan their ticket and pick up the code, would walk straight out of the exit, not watching a single second of the tournament. If you ended up with one of these cosmetics, hold it close.
