5 Things We Want To Improve In MMORPGs

4. Gear

Gear is one of those things that gets all MMO addicts hot under the collar but, as it stands, when you've maxed your level and gear you're going to look the exact same way as most of your comrades; and if you haven't maxed your gear then you're stuck with a hideous looking character that looks as if he's stumbled through Lady Gaga's wardrobe before strolling onto the battlefield. Triumphant or not, no one can feel proud of a character that they do not find looking as awesome as they are in action.

'What is the cure?', I hear you ask. It's delightfully simple and stems back to some of the older titles like Guild Wars and Runescape - Dyes. With the addition of some simple dyes, a player can be allowed to spice up his gear in a colorful way that is appealing to him/her and makes them stand out amongst the crowd. The dyes aren't just useful at end game level - it can help with the terrible mix and match situation you find yourselves in when you've found a new piece of gear with better stats but, when you try it on, looks like you belong in a carnival. The dye system, I've found, adds to the joys of in-game professions and gathering; contributing healthily to the in-game economy and adding that little bit of extra fun to an already fantastic experience.

A passionate gamer, I love anything to do with virtual worlds! Story and lore drive me through games and I love to get lost in the unique environments that each game brings! I stream from time to time but I'm looking to make it more regular and I love reading up on gaming news.
