5 Ups & 5 Downs From Destiny: Rise Of Iron

1. The Khvostov 7G-0X Exotic

Talk about a trip down memory lane. Everything about this exotic, and the mission tied to it, bleeds nostalgia. First, for those who don't remember or who are simply unaware, the Khvostov was the first gun you received in Destiny; that awful automatic rifle that was sitting there just for you. A lot of players never parted ways with it and kept the Khvostov in their vault, while most of us dismantled it the second we found something better.

Well the Kvostov is back and better than ever, although it's still not really all that special aside from the memories tied behind it. It's a gun that can change between single, auto and burst fire. And even the auto fire can be altered to be normal or incredibly fast, switching between 450 BPM to 900 BPM.

Really, the best part about this gun is the end of the mission where you earn it.

You'll find yourself on the Ketch that's been parked in the Cosmodrome since the beginning of Destiny, back where you were resurrected for the first time. You'll be presented with an opportunity to look over the railings of the Ketch and "Chat with Ghost", and that's when all the nostalgia hits home.

Your Ghost will tell you how glad it is to have gone through this journey with you, and that it always knew it would be with you for the long haul. It feels like the developers opted to break the fourth wall and speak directly to their players through Ghost, thanking the fans for their continued support. The speech from your Ghost alongside the upgraded gun we first shot makes for a nice little story of remembrance, even if the Ghost decided to ignore the fact he no longer sounds like Tyrion Lannister...
