4. Batman Begins (2005, EA Games)
Although the movie was a huge success, sparking the beginning of Christopher Nolans epic Dark Knight Trilogy, Batman Begins video game tie-in didnt go down as well with fans. Although the game is short and doesnt quite contain as much depth as the epic it is based on, Batman Begins is still an enjoyable game that will please gamers and Batman fans alike. One thing that the game does undeniable well is capturing the movies tone. The Gotham we see in the video game is just as dark and gritty as the one we see in Nolans movie, and the characters and events are captured just as perfectly. Something the game also does very well is utilizing the skills and abilities of Batman himself. This game is a stealth-based one, not a beat-em-up, so as Batman you must stay in the shadows and pick your enemies off one by one, using fear to intimidate and eventually bring them down. This is an idea that, although brought up in the movie, I dont think can be fully appreciated until you play Batman Begins. Although there are some repetitive moments and the game has a short life-span, its still rare to see a movies qualities translate so well to a video game.
