5 Video Games Based On Movies That Were Actually Good

2. Spider-Man 2 (2004, Activision)

amazing-spider-man-game-1 Spider-Man 2 is very near and dear to my heart personally because, not only is it one of the best movie tie-ins, it is undoubtedly one of the best comic book games out there. But that hasn€™t stopped the game from being overlooked thanks to Activision€™s previous Spider-Man movie tie-in (based on the first movie in Sam Raimi€™s trilogy) being a severe disappointment. This is the first game that truly uses the potential it is given by allowing you, the player, to swing around New York City as the web-slinger himself with no boundaries to be found. Just like Raimi€™s movie, Spider-Man 2 is above satisfying in every single way. Whether you€™re up for battling Doctor Octopus and saving the city, or you just want to web up a few petty thieves and leave them hanging from telephone poles, there€™s always something in the living and breathing New York City to tickle your fancy. The game even offers storylines that never made it into the final film such as Spider-Man€™s interactions with the Black Cat and his battles with major Spider-Man villains such as Shocker, Mysterio and the Rhino, all of whom you will face in several epic and action-packed boss battles. The game is packed with hidden gems and Easter Eggs that are just waiting to be found along with a wide array of mini-games and side mission that, along with the game€™s main story, sustains the games momentum and doesn€™t give it a chance to slow down. Also, thanks to the movie€™s actual cast lending their voices for the game€™s characters, the game overall feels like an interactive version of the movie, keeping everything that was great about Raimi€™s work story-wise and character-wise, and adding an extra layer of fun and excitement.
