5 Video Games Based On Movies That Were Actually Good

1. Peter Jackson's King Kong: The Official Game Of The Movie (2005, Ubisoft)

king kong video game Being an adaptation of what may have been the greatest movie that year, King Kong The Video Game had huge potential to fail. But, instead of being crushed under its own weight, it turned out to be one of the greatest interactive experiences ever made. With its stunning visuals, incredible environments and thrilling action sequences, Peter Jackson€™s King Kong: The Official Game of the Movie is without a doubt one of the greatest gaming achievements of all time, managing to create an unforgettable gaming experience without tainting the original source material. It€™s an experience I will never forget, and I envy those who have not yet experienced it, and are bale to for the first time. There are countless moments that will stay with me forever, such as facing a V-Rex for the first time, being chased by raptors through a herd of brontosaurus stampede, and coming face-to-face with the King of the jungle: Kong, whose own missions, despite feeling slightly shallow, take the game to whole other scale in terms of action and adventure. However, though you€™d think missions that allow you to take control of Kong would be the majority of the game€™s highlights, it€™s actually Jack€™s adventures that show off the game€™s greatness. As Jack, you€™ll find yourself in impossible situations; struggling to survive in the treacherous jungle on your mission to save Anne from the beast. It€™s these moments that you€™ll find yourself cowering as the island€™s inhabitants stalk you through the dark €“ you€™ll have to react fast and think on your feet to survive. This game isn€™t just a first-person dinosaur shooter, it€™s an intellectual survival horror with some memorable characters, stunning visuals (the entire island is truly gorgeous) and a captivating story; things that a lot of games in general are missing. Bearing all of these qualities and so much more, King Kong The Video Game is able to separate itself form the endless list of unnecessary and unpleasant movie tie-ins that continue to haunt gamers. This is an epic game in its own right. It isn€™t just one of the best movie tie-in games ever made, it€™s truly one of the best video games ever made.
