5 Video Games That Did DLC Right (And 5 That Ripped You Off)
5. Wrong - The Sims 4
After years of adding new content to an already substantial Sims 3, what did EA do when it came time to finally make a proper sequel?
Dumb it down by an ungodly degree, of course.
The Sims 4 served to make the series a vacant, dead behind the eyes, empty shell of its former self, and that is putting it mildly. The amount of items to use and things to do in Sims 4 was appallingly low, especially when compared to its aforementioned predecessor, which knew how do deliver on both the quantity and quality.
So where did everything go? It was all put aside and split up into numerous DLC packs. Worse yet, even after purchasing everything that can be purchased, the game still comes off painfully wanting. Even not taking Sims 3 into account, the amount of content in Sims 4 is still offensively low. And if you wanted to make it even somewhat reminiscent of The Sims you know and love, you were going to have to shell out a considerable chunk of change for all of the add-ons.
The Sims 4 showcases EA at some of their absolute worst, and it is not the last time they will appear on the negative side of this list.
