5 Video Games That Shamelessly Ripped Off Zelda

1. Ultimate iZelda Climb

Ultimate Izelda Climb And the award for the most shameless game of all the Zelda rip-offs ever encountered goes to... Ultimate iZelda Climb, for all your Zelda jumping needs at the tilt of a tablet. At this point, you really just have to hang your head in shame and present yourself on a platter to Nintendo executives. Not only does Ultimate iZelda Climb steal the name and identity of Nintendo's beloved franchise, but app developers Audio Attack take further inspiration from iOS game Doodle Jump. And if you thought that was bad, the developer even takes the artwork directly from DeviantArt member Kevin Keele. Ultimate iZelda Climb deposits Link's Wind Waker character in a hostile environment €“ some snazzy lightning features as the background €“ and gives you the following choices: jump or die. If you were hoping the app would branch out into treasure chests, finding the Triforce, defeating Ganondorf, or even meeting up with Princess Zelda, think again. This app has no audio, no clever animations, but it does offer the occasional coin to extend your score. It's simply Link, jumping. But Zelda isn't the only game franchise Audio Attack has shamelessly ripped off. You can find similar jumping games entitled Modern Warfare 3 Jump, Ultimate WoW Jump, Jurassic Jump, and most ludicrously Hello Kitty Hop. Mysteriously, the game has disappeared from the iTunes store in the UK and America, so Nintendo probably nipped it in the bud back in 2011 on its release, but the app was previously available for just 99 cents or 69 pence. It's a cheap price to pay for Link to hop continuously on your screen, but it's definitely the most shameless rip-off Zelda game we've ever seen.
