2. The Walking Dead
Everyone knows about The Walking Dead, whether its the TV series, the comic books, or the game that shocked and surprised everyone last year. Even with its comic book look and feel the game still managed to be one of the goriest games of the year. However, rather than cheering on the violence like one would do for Mortal Kombat you often find yourself just as disgusted as Lee and little Clementine. For a mature rated title, one might assume this game would be all guts, guns, and glory, but in a shocking turn of events, it's more about story, your dialogue choices, building relationships with the colorful cast of fellow survivors, and most importantly keeping Clementine safe. I cant imagine anyone who wouldnt feel a connection to Lee and Clem. Lee is the cliché everyday hero with a dark past, and Clem proves that not every kid in the apocalypse is annoying and inadvertently screws everything up. Lee and Clem are awesome, the game is awesome, and it showcases that gamers do have emotions. We dont just sit there with our mouths gaped open glaring with blank stares of hatred (well, not always). That is why it is a top choice for a lot of awards shows and websites as the best game of last year.
