5 Ways Nintendo Can Make The Wii U A Success In 2013

5. Multimedia

One of the company€™s biggest issues for years has been the question of including a drive that can play DVDs. Microsoft and Sony have had DVD players included in their home consoles since the sixth generation and have since moved on to HD and Blu-Ray in that time. Nintendo have always held a stance that gaming and media should be kept separate, but with the embracing of video-based services such as LoveFilm, YouTube and Netflix, it seems baffling that there isn€™t a simple DVD player built in to the machine. The gearing towards a multimedia system is completely undermined by this. It would be wise to start working on a Blu-Ray Wii U in the near future, or possibly 3D Blu-Ray drive. 2013 is going to prove a vital year for Nintendo. With the buzz of the Wii U already beginning to diminish, the company needs to smooth the bumps on their new hardware. Hopefully, this, combined with a strong software line-up, will ensure that the console is strong enough to go head-to-head with the new Playstation and Xbox.
