5 Ways RPG Games Are Falling Behind

2. Repetition of Assets

Assets This one might go back to being more personal and gripey, but it still plagues RPG's. If I start looking through a food vendor's inventory in Skyrim, I will see two apple colours and a few types of cheese, but if I go out into a village, all of the buildings look the same. Way to prioritise. Or in Mass Effect 2, how the same white crates covered in a metal grid seem to be in this galactic season. RPG's just re-use so much content and the entire experience comes off as lazy. And while I am aware that EVERY game ever does this, and some non-RPG's like Battlefield 3 do it just as bad if not worse, in a genre where attention to detail is everything, this visual and functional detail can make the game feel oh so tedious. While this is only a short one, it's one I can't speak of other than saying that it sucks.

I live in Australia, love to write and play games. So what better than writing about games? I love all things action and fantasy, as well as my occasional shooter. I literally cannot wait for GTAV!
