Any new iteration of a game often comes with new content, such as the recent Mario Kart 8 Deluxe. Crash Team Racing HD should be no exception.

A selection of new characters would definitely help the game feel newer. Although there haven't been many new characters introduced in the series as is, some of the more recent games in the series have introduced some great new characters.

One such character is Crunch Bandicoot. Crunch has appeared in almost all of the more recent games and as such, should definitely make an appearance here as well.

Other possible characters to be included are Nitrous Oxide (as sans a cheat cartridge, he didn't make a playable appearance in the original game) and N-Trance, both of whom are newer introductions into the villains roster. Guest characters like Spyro could also be included, especially if Activision are intending to make a remaster of the Spyro games.
