One notable feature that was absent from both Crash Team Racing and Crash Nitro Kart was customisation. Neither game allowed players to make changes to their Kart or their characters. Crash Team Racing HD should change that.

Cosmetic changes are a common feature of almost any video game nowadays. Whether it be changing colours, adding bits and bobs or making something look completely different, Crash Team Racing needs to implement some sort of customisation.

Vicarious Visions should allow players to change the look of their karts completely to make them feel more personal. These karts could even be saved to the player's profile to appear in different game modes.

This level of customisation could even be extended to characters. Although it seems unlikely that each character will get a different skin, allow players to add different accessories to their chosen racer. Unlocking different hats, jackets and different taunts would really liven up the process of completing each race, akin to Mario Kart 8.
