50 Essential Star Wars Games You Must Play

40. Soulcalibur IV (2008) €“ Xbox 360, PlayStation 3

This fighting game may be an odd addition as it isn't technically a Star Wars game, but in all honesty, it isn't really. Continuing the series' trend of random cameos, after a play through you unlock Yoda, Starkiller and Darth Vader. These characters appear in lush and vivid 3D environments, which are strong enough that they should be more enough of a reason to play it. The wrongs of Masters of Teräs Käsi were written in Soul Calibur IV, and the taster given in this game was everything Teräs Käsi should have been.

39. Star Wars: Episode I €“ Jedi Power Battles (2001) - PlayStation, Dreamcast

Jedi-Power-Battles-Screen-1 Star Wars: Episode I Jedi Power Battles is set during the time frame of The Phantom Menace, and was first released for the PlayStation, and then afterwards for the Dreamcast. There are 10 levels including Trade Federation Battleship, Swamps of Naboo, Theed palace, Tatooine, Coruscant, Ruins and more. This is the best of the Episode 1 tie-ins and actually a great hack and slash caper game: if you want a hint of the power of Jedi Council that you see sitting in a room for a whole film, then this is it.

38. Star Wars Jedi Knight: Mysteries of the Sith (1998) -Windows

4713-2-star-wars-jedi-knight-mysteries-of-the-sith The first Jedi Knight game on our list, Star Wars Jedi Knight: Mysteries of the Sith is an expansion pack for Dark Forces II. Released on January 31, 1998, this expansion includes a single-player mode and fifteen multiplayer maps. The single-player story is set five years after the events of Dark Forces II, and the player controls Kyle Katarn, protagonist of Star Wars: Dark Forces and Dark Forces II, and later in the game, Mara Jade. This game has a bunch of improvements over Dark Forces II, including lighting, models, and improved enemy AI. Mysteries of the Sith is nice addition to the Jedi Knight series, and you can never get enough of Kyle Katarn.

37. Star Wars: The Clone Wars (2002) - PlayStation 2, Nintendo GameCube, Xbox

clone-wars This game blasted on to the scene in 2002, and although mostly consists of vehicular combat, you can control Anakin Skywalker and Mace Windu in 3rd person. This game allows you to play with all the tools of the Republic war machine, the IFT-X, the Republic Gunship, and the AT-XT. This is the definitive Clone Wars game. It would only be beaten by Battlefront for a better SWU battlefield experience.

36. Star Wars Battlefront: Elite Squadron (2009) - PlayStation Portable

This spin-off from the Star Wars Battlefront series, has stiff and awkward controls but will satisfy those seeking a fix of a sequel to the masterpiece Battlefront II. The customization options is a cool addition, but it is not the best of the Star Wars handheld games. It is the last of the series as we still await Battlefront 3.
