6 Common RPG Character Cliches And The Disorders They Suffer From

6. Energetic Airheaded Girl Who Turns Out To Be Knowledgeable

Attention Deficit Disorder (Careless mistakes, easily distracted, failing to follow instruction, forgetfulness) Patients: Rikku (FFX, FFX-2), Pascal (Tales of Graces), Vanille (FFXIII), Selphie (FFVIII) Let's start off with the ever-so-popular female cliche that gamers go gaga over. The one who can't keep her mouth shut, can't hold still, can't seem to focus, but will randomly blurt out information that the party could have used hours ago. She is oddly often one of the last to join the party and is used for comic relief. Her spunky attitude and total disdain for her surroundings make her....very attractive. In fact, it's almost a requirement for any RPG. There was only one obvious disorder that these characters suffer from and in reality, they would sure be a handful - not like they weren't before. Imagine just hanging out with this girl. I don't know about you, but I would run for the hills if she stopped and admired every shiny object she saw and pranced around like she was in The Sound of Music. I don't know how other characters put up with it all, but I guess I would need some enjoyment too if I was inching along to save the world. In another note, these kind of girls turn out to be attractive for...balancing reasons; not of the other characters, but of the person playing the game. Gamers aren't especially known for their upbeat, social behaviors. Compensation much?
