6 Marvel Characters Who Could Have Games Better Than Spider-Man
2. Thor
Imagine if Kratos could fly. No, no. Just imagine if Kratos could fly. Not the Icarus Wings stuff, but full on flight, through the entire game, with no limits.
Not enough? How about the power to wield lightning? The option to choose between Mjolnir and Stormbringer? Loki, Odin, Hela, Sif and Heimdall all featuring? The potential to have each of the nine realms as playable maps?
Linking the MCU together so fluidly has been a masterstroke, but it does hamper some of the comic book’s zaniest exploits. Thor’s narrative is indelibly tied to Earth (or Midgard, as he would say). Even with Jane Foster being conveniently written out of the narrative, the Avengers still keeps Thor connected to our planet. A game could allow him to explore the worlds the movie is yet to touch.
Even with all of these possibilities though, with two middling movies under his belt, reception to a Thor game might have been lukewarm at best. Indeed, when the movie tie in came out, it was. Now that Taika Waititi’s Ragnarok has performed possibly the most successful soft reboot of all time though? Fans would be desperate to sign up for an Asgardian adventure.
