5. Dunwich Borers - Fallout 4

A sequel to the Dunwich Building's strange (and horrific) tale in Fallout 3, the Dunwich Borers expanded the plot under the form of a massive underground mining complex.

Again with the hallucinations and the supernatural phenomenons that intensify the further you descend into the dig site. But now the hallucinations are much more elaborate and tell a grislier story than just a 'normal day at work' scene, ending with an unexplained alien artifact.

The Dunwich Borers' site tells a more detailed story of Dunwich Borers LLC, whose office the player had been given the chance of exploring back in Fallout 3. On the surface, it was a company specialised in making rock drills for tunnelling and digging. But underground, the company was actually a cult dedicated entirely to worshipping an eldritch deity whose influence was driving employees insane. The company's management set up shrines deep underneath the bowels of the mining complex and lured employees along with their families to sacrificial kill-grounds hundreds of years before the war.

Now only corpses and ghouls heavily mutated from radiation remain.

Eventually, you find a radioactive well deep underneath the mine. Inside, you will be able to find Kremvh's Tooth, A unique weapon that grants a substantial damage boost. Deep inside the well, you see a statue's face emerging partially from the soil at the bottom. It was highly likely that it was the statue of Ug-Qualtoth - the malignant, Lovecraftian deity that Dunwich Borers LLC worshipped, and that the true purpose of the dig site was to unearth the statue rather than seeking for minerals or wealth.

Fortunately, the bombs fell before they could unleash their God on the rest of the world.
