6 Possibilities For Yuke's New Wrestling Video Game IP

5. Arcade

THQ/WWE

With Yuke's still owning the rights to the engine that powered WWE All Stars, we could see something very similar. A new take on an arcade style, beat 'em up game could work very well since we haven't had one since 2011.

But this style could take many forms as well. One of WWE's biggest regrets is never bringing WWE Brawl to our consoles. Before THQ folded, there seemed to be a lot of grand plans for Brawl including action figures and animated series based off the art style. Brawl was meant to be a mesh of fighting game meets wrestling turning the WWE superstars into their own Mortal Kombat cast. Mixing in destructible environments equally as exaggerated as the special powers, it seemed to have a lot of potential.

Whichever way Yuke's goes here, there is still plenty of meat on the bone in this genre. Many seem to have mixed feelings about the sense of hyper realism WWE 2K19 tried to achieve. They'd rather that franchise have a more arcade approach, much like the WWE SmackDown! series.
