6 Reasons New Pokemon Snap Is The Best Spin Off Title In The Series
3. Longevity To Keep Players Coming Back
While the original game was a huge hit it was incredibly short. It featured just seven levels and once you had figured out how to get each Pokémon to complete their signature pose that was pretty much all it had to offer. Thankfully New Pokémon Snap brings so much more and will keep players involved for a long time.
The biggest change is the addition of star ratings which while confusing at first will be the biggest reason for players to replay levels over and over again. Separate to the scores given to you by the Professor each photo receives a star rating between 1-4 which is triggered by a specific pose or activity for each Pokémon. Star ratings don't stack meaning that to completely fill out your Pokédex you will need to get four different star ratings for each of the 200+ Pokémon. It will leave you trying every item at every time of the day to see what is required to get that different interaction for each creature.
There is also now a rating for each level which will increase through beating your own scores. As this goes up Pokémon interact with you more giving you different poses allowing you to get better scores and the higher rated stars.
It all adds to the package and makes what is a simple game challenging and addictive trying to find everything it has to offer.
