6 Spin-Off Video Games Better Than The Original
1. Crash Team Racing
Right. So this one is a conflict that kept me up at night but I’ve finally come to terms with it. I am stating, for the record, that I think that Crash Team Racing is a finer game than each of the bandicoot's three PSOne platformers. The mental anguish this caused me was immense but I feel in my heart of hearts that it’s the truth. Because, as anyone who has played this absolute gem of a game can tell you, this is one of the best kart racing games. Period.
In a time when everyone and their dead dog had a kart racer, Crash took to the track and burned more rubber than the Michelin Man’s co... [that's enough - Ed.] It handles so extremely well with a boosting system that rewards risk taking, blurring races into an experience unlike no other. There was even a cool single player hub world and a ton of boss races to freshen up the offerings (absolutely not ripped from Diddy Kong Racing).
Put simply, while I adore the Crash Bandicoot games, this racer spun off and overtook them in terms of enjoyment across the board. And I do not say that lightly.
