7 Best Candidates To Direct A Shadow Of The Colossus Movie

1. Gareth Edwards

2014s Godzilla was not without flaws. Visual effects- specialist turned director Gareth Edwards gave us much less Bryan Cranston and far more Aaron Taylor-Johnson than we needed. He did get one thing damn right, however: Godzilla.

Arguably the best character in the movie, Godzilla was ideally introduced by someone who seems to have a fundamental understanding of monsters. Majestic-looking and emotionally charged, his towering beast caught many by surprise with his subversive role in the picture, while the dashing visual effects gave a substantial lesson to all the Michael Bays out there on how to depict action on such a grand scale.

With the hugely anticipated Rogue One: A Star Wars Story coming out this December, Edwards reputation has the potential to get boosted to the next level. If he manages to keep his vision intact (reshoots do not nessecarily indicate trouble) and make the movie a success, chances are that many studios will eagerly have him helming their projects.

So let's hope he'll be eyeing Shadow of the Colossus next. The monster tentacle love making scene in his gem of a debut Monsters should be enough to persuade anyone that hes our guy.
