Similar to the Iron Whale from Shovel Knight, the Launch Octopus stage in Mega Man X simply changes how gravity works, which makes for a fun level where you don't have to learn a completely different control scheme.
This level emphasises what makes Mega Man X so good: difficult but fair gameplay. Yes, you'll have hundreds of seahorse robots shooting directly at you from every direction, but you'll be able to see them doing so and react accordingly.
Also the boss fight against Utuboros (the sea dragon) and Launch Octopus himself are awesome boss fights.
