1. Farewell, Sweet Ti’zo - Pyre

Supergiant’s third game (and third masterpiece out of four in a row, tbh) Pyre was part visual novel, part sports sim. If that doesn’t sound like your thing, don’t worry. It absolutely works, and features such great characters and writing you’ll soon be hooked on the journey.

Pyre has a big cast, but you’ll still get opportunities to know them all personally. Then, when you reach the game’s ending, you’ll have to make a series of choices which could well involve leaving a whole bunch of them behind in a permanent state of purgatory.

So much of the emotion of Supergiant's games come from Darren Korb’s beautiful soundtracks, and Pyre is no different. The ending theme wraps up your journey with lyrics about the characters that change based on which choices you make here. This can either be great, or just rub it in, depending on how things went.
