7 Exact Video Game Moments That Made You "Nope Out" Entirely

6. Bumping Into The Witch - Left 4 Dead Franchise

There's something so utterly alluring about the Left4Dead games.

Somehow the devs managed to take a team-based FPS and add in just the right amount of comedy and horror so that neither side feels overplayed. Its controls are liquid-smooth, its characters are beyond loveable and its enemies are arguably some of the best (and most disturbing) creations going.

And then there's The Witch.

I would argue that while a Tank might make your shoes damp with liquid poo, it's the Witch who provides such a meaty scare buffet that you'll be full within seconds. And it all starts with that sound.

That low, cutting moan. The soft wailing that seems like it's coming from a being who has given up all hope. It's genuinely affecting each time you listen to it, and on your first playthrough, you'll likely have gone towards the noise in order to help such is our nature. However, it's here that this provides the biggest "Nope" of the franchise, as the Witch reveals herself as an emaciated and horrifying creature that when disturbed is a near one-hit killing machine.

Thus on every playthrough after the first, as soon as you hear that noise you'll be heading in the other direction entirely!
