7 Games That Deserve An HD Re-Release

7 games that are just begging to be re-made in glorious high definition.

Whether you consider it a cynical attempt to cash in on nostalgia, or a genuine labour of love for old games, HD re-releases are big business these days. Dreamcast classic Jet Set Radio is the latest to have received the HD treatment, now available for download on the PS3 and 360, but it's joined a long list. Almost every classic game from the last decade seems to have either been re-made already, or is currently on the way. From Rez to Resi 4, and God of War to Devil May Cry, few franchises seem to have been left untouched. Some are more deserving than others though, which is why it's time to look at some of the games that are just begging to be re-made in glorious high definition. Disagree with these choices? Feel free to leave your own suggestions in the comments!

7. Killer 7 (Gamecube, PS2)

Capcom's cult classic hit consoles in 2005, and in the seven years since there hasn't been another game quite like Killer 7. But what would you expect from a collaboration between Goichi Suda and Shinji Mikami, two of the games industry's most creative minds? Equal parts on rails shooter, geopolitical thriller, survival horror, and just about everything else besides, Killer 7 revels in being difficult to categorise. And that creativity extends to the design of everything from the levels to the enemies. Its visual variety is only made better by a noir-style spin on cel-shading, which adds spades of atmosphere and still looks striking today. All it needs is a little tidy up here and there to bring it into line, and you could mistake it for something that came out this year. Given how criminally overlooked it was on release, Killer 7 deserves a remake, HD or not, if only to give more people the chance to play it.
