6. Shenmue/Shenmue II (Dreamcast)
It's been over ten years since Shenmue II left us on a cliffhanger, and since then fans have almost given up hope of every seeing Ryo Hazuki's quest come to an end. Will Lan Di ever be brought to justice? What is the secret of the Dragon mirror? Can we ever expect to see Shenmue III? These questions might never be answered, but bringing back two of gaming's most lovingly-crafted and detailed worlds would be a great first step. Ten years ago the Shenmue games were so large and ambitious they cost millions to produce, and stretched the Dreamcast to its very limits. But imagine them together now, revamped and running on hardware that can accommodate the vision behind them. An HD re-release for the first two Shenmue games was actually heavily rumoured back in March this year, but sadly it's all been quiet since then. If Sega eventually released them and they proved successful, we might be one step closer to seeing one of the great unfinished stories in games getting the closure it deserves.
