7 Hardest Video Game Mini-Bosses That Wrecked Players

4. Super Salvadores - Resident Evil 4

There are two things that are pretty much guaranteed to send shivers down the spines of Resident Evil fans, the first being the cringe induced by the Resi live-action films, and the second being the whirring rattle of Dr. Salvadore's chainsaw.

Now at this point in time, players were three mainline entries deep and well versed in everything that Umbrella could throw at us, but Resi 4 made no bones about trying to saw through yours by placing the good Doctor as an encounter mere minutes into the experience. However, while I know that a fair few of us probably bit the dust early doors thanks to misunderstanding hit one-hit kill potential, he's not the Salvadore we're talking about today, as there is another, even stronger version that players can battle in the games almighty Mercenaries mode.

Now to be clear, the Waterworld Stage where this super Salvadore exists is already the greatest test of any player's skills, as its sprawling and piecemeal level design means that certain areas offer little cover while others can turn into bottlenecks quickly. Fill this space with high-level enemies and this is already a huge challenge, but wait there's more!

And by more, I mean a constantly swinging, fast-moving, super sized Salvadore that can and will kill you in one hit whenever it gets close enough. When coupled with Resi 4's static aiming system this is a terrifying and often very short encounter. Oh and to top it all off, sometimes the game will spawn two of them, yeah have fun.
