Both Matt and Jeff Hardy had appeared as jobbers in the WWF throughout the '90s. By 1998, they were beginning to show up on 'B' level programming like Shotgun as a high-flying tag-team, and they'd later ink contracts with the company. Before that, the siblings had another gig.

They provided motion capture for WWF War Zone.

Covered in balls (steady), Matt and Jeff would play out all the different moves for Acclaim's technical wizards to capture and animate. So, when you were smashing Shawn Michaels with that Stunner as Steve Austin or hitting Mankind with a steel chair as The Undertaker, it was actually The Hardyz doing it for you.

Later, the brothers would return and do exactly the same thing for 1999's Attitude release. That same year, they'd launch into the public eye by working daring Ladder-based bouts with Edge and Christian. A gig's a gig, and all that.
