While you might expect the likes of "waiting out The End" or "using an auto-input to smash Liquid Snake's face in" to be in the Metal Gear portion of this list, it was recently discovered that there is a truly unbeatable boss lurking within Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain, and that's Konami itself.

To better explain, we need to discuss the "secret" Total Nuclear Disarmament ending of the game, and I use quotations around secret because it was an ending that exposed itself by accident thanks to an update resetting game data, causing it to trigger.

Normally this ending would only unlock if every single active player chose to remove nuclear warheads from their base, thus ensuring a peaceful future for humanity, done by Hideo Kojima and his team as a thumbing gesture to the world that this would likely never happen.

Yet we gamers are a persistent sort, and a massive collaboration of players grouped together to make this dream a reality.

Yet, they hit a snag when they realized the ending could never be obtained legitimately, thanks to a series of nukes not actually existing to any tangible player. Scores of warheads apparently existed in the game but could never be removed, meaning that the feat was impossible, which in turn led players to resort to the same tactics as the devs, cheating their way through to unlocking the ending.

Peace was never an option, it seems.
