7 Pieces Of Tech From Video Games That'll Actually Exist Soon

4. Strength-Boosting Exoskeleton From Metal Gear Solid 4

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g3uBT2-g4h0 Making the soldiers of today a little bit more sci-fi has been an ongoing project of the US military for some time now. The latest version of movement-enhancing exoskeletons is straight out of Metal Gear Solid 4. The Soft Exosuit may not quite be Raiden's Ninja exoskeleton, but it's effectively the same thing that keeps an ageing, sclerotic Snake trudging through the game. The Soft Exosuit fits around the wearer's waist and legs, and the fabric from which it's made is filled with sensors and microprocessors that measure things like your muscle movements and how hard you're hitting the ground when you walk. These processors then inject bursts of energy at the right moments to help you move faster and walk further distances without getting tired. There are several similar ideas being tested for both the US military and for the public - particularly people with degenerative conditions.
