7 Reasons EFootball 2022’s Launch Has Been A Disaster And Spells The End Of PES

2. Only A Portion Of The Game Available At Launch

eFootball was released as a free-to-play game. However, there was still an expectation that, free or not, the full game would be available at launch. Instead, only the most basic elements of the game are currently playable.

A couple of months prior to release, a roadmap was released by Konami confirming that the majority of modes - such as the popular Master League and a 'team building mode' - would be released post-launch.

Still, more was expected after two years of development. On launch day, only two options to play were available; a basic exhibition mode offline and basic online matches which you can't even play against your friends. Even then, if you play offline against the AI you can only pick to play from nine teams, as well as only having two difficulty levels to pick from - 'regular' and 'superstar'.

Online matches do give you the usual option of full teams - with over 200 available, including their made-up names from previous versions of the game - but, for a game to launch with only the most basic of modes in 2021, is not acceptable.

Initially, it was advertised as a full game, but it is no more than a glorified demo.
