3. Space Janitors
This show asks the question, "what was the janitorial staff of the Death Star up to during Star Wars?" Space Janitors is about two custodians, Darby and Mike, working aboard a space station that is in the midst of a Star Wars-type conflict. Obviously, rights issues don't allow them to use Star Wars names, so lightsabers are now beam rods, storm troopers are squall troopers, and Darth Vader is Dark Lord. Space Janitors is a fun concept that's executed surprisingly well. Even though everything around the actors is green screen, you don't get distracted by how fake it is and just enjoy the comedy. That's a lot more than you can say about the Star Wars prequels. One notable episode begins with Darby sweeping the floor of an enormous shaft. Suddenly, a hand holding a "beam rod" falls to the ground (wonder who that can belong to?). As a janitor, Darby doesn't know what the weapon is and somehow decides that it's both a musical instrument and a tool for heating up food. It's also pretty effective at slicing Mike's arms off.
