7 Reasons Rocksteady's Suicide Squad Reveal Was A HUGE Disappointment
3. ANOTHER "Evil Superman"
From Injustice 1 and 2 to Batman V Superman, Justice League to Brightburn, Superman fans have been done dirty for over a decade when it comes to traditional portrayals of the Big Blue Boy Scout.
It comes to something when on the Marvel side, a character like Captain America is a more authentic Superman-adjacent force for moral goodness and genuinely positivity than a guy whose entire purpose is fighting for what's right on an intergalactic scale.
Yes, there have been plenty alternate versions of Superman, but why go through the trouble of brainwashing Clark so the Suicide Squad have a "better reason" to take him out?
We're playing as the Suicide Squad.
The very idea of an alternate reality take where we might see the likes of King Shark and Captain Boomerang figure out a way to kill Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman etc. is fascinating. Let us actually play as the villains - not villains who in this context are accidentally serving a greater good. It would immediately go down in history as a unique story between the two factions.
Instead, having already seen Brainiac's ship at the start of the trailer, you're likely "freeing" the League from his grip, then going in for a big final duel.
