Its Michelin-starred restaurants, tall, imposing cathedrals, or wheat fields don’t make an appearance, but the dev team didn’t shy away from referencing Lyon – the city site of their studio - as a design influence on the game.

You probably won’t find Emily or Corvo walking around munching on a fresh Baguette or a wheel of Comte, but the verticality of Lyon’s architecture reflects that of Karnaca’s.

The team noted that a lot of the influence on Dishonoured 2’s city comes from the old, crumbling cities of the Banana Republic or Cuba, but the French city where the studio lies definitely makes an appearance too.

This verticality was very important to the team – a fundamental characteristic of the stealth-play. The team noted how the improved verticality, “widened the playground” of what was possible in the game. It definitely made those drop-down kills that much more satisfying.
