7 Terrible Excuses People Make For Losing At Online Games

2. This Isn€™t My Map

I have a little sympathy with this one (I use it myself), but really it€™s no more justified than the others. Imagine an online game which has a total of 12 different maps available €“ most players might consider between 3 and 6 of those maps their best maps, and dismiss their results on the other maps because they€™re not a product of their best work. Which, of course, is based on the assumption that the people you€™re up against are playing on their favourite maps €“ all the time. When you beat someone on your own favourite map, it seems justified because you€™re playing at your best (although they may well not be) and so reflects your true potential. Well, here€™s news for you: your best performance is not how good you are. Your results across all game-types and maps is a much truer reflection.

1. My Team Sucks

Team I won€™t pretend that it€™s not frustrating to vastly outplay the other members of your team, but if you spend all your time complaining about it, you€™ve just got a bad attitude. There has to be a worst player on the team, and sometimes it€™ll be you. So long as the other people in your team are trying to win, there€™s no reason to blame them for losing €“ sometimes, their bad results might even be because you€™re not being a team player. They must just suck, of course, but part of playing a team game is trying to help them when they do €“ because next game, it might be you that needs help.
